Artist's Comments

On November 18th, 1985, the first Calvin and Hobbes comic strip was published. It grew in popularity by captivating the imagination in all of us. The art was absolutely beautiful, the characters lovable, and the antics hilarious. It is because of Bill Waterson that I went into art. I was so very sad when I read that he retired. But I understand, and don't blame him for doing so. Publishers constantly fought with him to sell the rights to merchandise his ideas. I am glad he never gave in, 'cause then the imagination would fade away.

Here's to you Calvin and Hobbes, Happy 20th birthday!

I'm sure Bill Waterson's work has effected you in some way. Please :+fav: and spread the word to honor him.
